White Jeans Outfit + The One Thing You Need From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

JACKET SOLDOUT (SIMILAR) // JEANS // SANDALS // TEE
Hi Chicsters long time no speak in todays post is all about wardrobe basics. Now I believe I've talked about basics on the blog a couple of times but honestly there importance didn't dawn on me until a couple of months ago.

Last year during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I tried out the Tee I have on and I fell in love.  Prior to this revelation I was the kind of girl who didn't believe in spending more than $10 bucks on a Tee.
However when I put on this Tee all my t shirt dreams were fulfilled. It was slouchy but not baggy, THE NECK wasn't too wide low etc ( its a U-neck/rounded V), the sleeve length was just right, and the Tee COVERED MY BUTT!! Boo I almost lost it! BTW I am wearing an XXL which equates to an 18 comes in Plus also.

Basically the experience reiterated what I had heard for years which is to invest in basics

You look more expensive they fit and wear better and over time you get your money's worth. Speaking of the sale it starts in 2 days, (Early Access) I am currently gathering the Tea lol! I will be sharing my picks in various categories so if you want me to cover any specifics please let me know.

I didn't even talk about my outfit, the theme was all white with contrast, I was going for resort vibes so I paired my favorite White Tee which I currently have a double of and in black (will be stocking up if avail during the sale) with a pair of white jeans from Ashley Stewart (watch Haul) comes in XS, S, R, TALL ,  an embroidered denim jacket from Torrid and lace up sandals from Asos

How to Wear The Deconstructed Trend : Fourth Of July Outfit

plus size fourth of july outfit

asos curve deconstructed skirt

asos curve deconstructed skirt outfit
WHITE OFF SHOULDER TOP // BROWN CLUTCH // RED SANDALS // DECONSTRUCTED SKIRT
Ive been eyeing this Skirt (its 50% off now) for some time and I honestly know that I was convinced to get it by seeing it on a fellow blogger. I briefly touched on the Deconstructed trend (Here, Here). Although somewhat of a micro trend it's definitely been embraced by fashion girls. In today's post I'll be sharing ways to style this deconstructed skirt.

Here are five reasons why you need this Skirt in your life

Its made out of a lightweight woven fabric perfect for hot days!

The blue with white pinstripes is very menswear and super current!

It has an elasticated waist and a peplum of sorts, all super flattering!

and finally as I eluded you can pair it with wedges, sandals or sneakers #soversatile !

One of the reasons that I am a repeat customer of Asos (on major sale now) is because of their willingness to make unique styles in plus size and this Skirt is no exception. One of the good things about this Skirt is its versatility, its a piece that can be easily dressed up or down. I paired the deconstructed Skirt with an Off  Shoulder top from HM and my red Sandals (old luv these) . Finally to finish things off I choose a neutral Clutch.

3 Summer Outfits To Try This Week

DUSTER // JEANS (VIA DIA & CO) // TOTE // FUR SLIDES

Summer is literally here and I've been loving rocking some of my summer go-tos but because we've had bipolar weather lately, I thought I would share three outfits that you can rock no matter what your weathers like.
So what demarcates spring from summer I guess shedding most of our leftover layers from winter. Summer can be a precarious time when your plus size for many reasons, body image, and hygiene issues (see Hacks Video) to name a few. During the summer I tend to gravitate towards Lightweight cotton, non-clingy silhouettes, pieces with intentionally place cut outs and basics.

My style on the blog has gotten pretty casual as of late, pretty true to my style actually,  after blogging for five years (Happy Blogiversary we turned five this month) I've come to a point where I don't feel the need to do the most with my looks (be ultra glam all the time). I want to showcase more how my personal style works in tandem with my lifestyle, I hope that's ok with you.

SHOP THE POST

For this look, I paired my Embroidered Duster from Boohoo with a tank, my Kut from the Kloth jeans that I received via Dia & Co (find out about more Here), my Fur slides which are comfortable but make a statement and finally a Target Ring tote that I realized I've worn in the last two posts πŸ™πŸΎ . This look is very now (silk dusters and robes are trending) but also perfect for cool summer nights/day because the duster is light enough to layer with on a typical summers night. If worn during the day and the heat becomes unbearable it can easily be discarded.

Tip: During summers months Fabric selection is key especially when your plus size, gravitate towards loose, airy, natural and breathable fabrics like cotton, paper thin silks, and linen to minimize hygiene issues.

How to Transition From Spring To Summer: Mustard Romper Outfit

ROMPER // LACE UP FLATS // JACKET // WHITE CROSS-BODY
There's something about warm weather that makes me yearn for color. There are a few colors I gravitate towards mainly because they look great on brown skin, they are fuchsia and mustard. In today's post, I'm sharing how I style this Romper its a recent purchase from Boohoo (see entire Haul Here) and was one of my favorite pieces from the haul.

SHOP THE POST

For this look, I decided to pair the Romper with my trusty Mustard moto jacket from Eloquii (also worn here) I literally wore that jacket non-stop when I first got it. Little details like the added touch of a belt and even its somewhat cropped length makes it perfect.
The weather here lately has been cool and rainy, If your weather is similar but you can't wait to wear your summer pieces, this outfit is an example of how it's done. Because the print on the Romper included white flowers I went with a White crossbody that I scored last year from Forever21 for only ten bucks. I finished up the look with Lace-up flats from Nordstrom and tinted frames from Torrid (aren't they fun).

Diana Stripe Off The Shoulder Playsuit // Jessy Lace Pom Pom Detail Playsuit // Sophia Floral Wrap Playsuit // Alana Slinky Flared Sleeve Tie Playsuit // Bethany Flippy Floral Print Playsuit // Zoey Paisley Print Off The Shoulder Playsuit

Tip: Wearing shorts can be tricky when your plus size and bottom heavy a quick tip is to go for "longer" shorts with an a line shape because it will skim your waist.

Three All White Outfit Rules to Live By

eloquii fringe crop outfit plus size
FRINGE JEANS // CROP TOP // RING TOTE
The official start of summer is memorial day and it signals to me the beginning of all white season; I wont lie I'm kinda excited for summer 17.  Speaking of all white In today's post I share Three all white outfit rules to live by.

Wearing all white when you are plus size can be tricky because well, we all know lighter colors make everyone look bigger. Despite that, you don't have to shy away from white if you are Plus size ( see more all white ).

FIT is King
The worst thing you can do while wearing whites is to wear something ill fitting if it's too big it will make you look sloppy and bigger and if it's too small it will accentuate all your flaws and probably make you look like a sausage. Size up if you have to, to get the right fit, its just a number

Wear Complimentary whites
All whites aren't created equal there are different shades and variations from Ivory, to ecru and stark white if you pair the wrong combinations together

Fabric Matters
When you are plus size fabric matters period but especially for white because as I said white tends to accentuate your flaws, however, heavier fabrics like knits, denim, and scuba are substantial enough to camouflage. Do stay away from see through thin jersey fabrics.

For this outfit, I paired my Fringed crop Jeans (love the darts in the back #nogap) with my fave Off the shoulder ruffled top and for accessories, I styled the look with my who what wear for Target gold Ring Tote. I wanted to add a bit of color so I finished it off with bright Pumps

Fit Tip: So I sized up on my jeans because I wanted it to fit properly around my hips and butt, I shouldn't have these jeans do stretch out with some wear so buy your size.

Striped Crossbody Bag + Red Pumps Outfit

Today's look is for those cooler days (like today) and it's takeaway is that you can pair neutrals together. Black, white and brown do go together. That was the epiphany I had when trying to style my new fav, hasn't left my arm since I got it stripe Bag from Zara.

am not sure where I spotted the two-tone stripe crossbody bag first Zara or Instagram one thing was for sure though I needed it in my life; I knew it would be versatile and add "something" to my looks. But then when I got it, I couldn't figure out how I wanted to style it πŸ€”,  I KNOW RIGHT that's what happens #expectationsvsreality. Anyway I ran across a picture on Instagram, by a blogger who had a similar bag and she styled hers with a camel trench coat and jeans and I was like duhhhhhhh!! of course black and white go with brown its called leopard print!

SHOP THE POST

It was soooo cold the day we shot this look, so I was happy to be wearing my snuggly oversized Sweatshirt (same one I wore Here) and yes I am still on my athleisure kick. I am a mom and ill take any excuse to wear sweats. I styled the BAG with my nude sweatshirt, distressed Jeans (luv the fit), and red Pumps.

Tip: you can pair your neutrals together! Black and white stripes go with pretty much everything browns, blues, greens, and reds.

In other news why is spring weather so EMO tho, to be quite honest I'm just happy things are getting warmer.

What's the weather like in your corner of the world? How do you adjust your outfits to fit?

DRESS //  BOX CLUTCH // CLEAR SANDAL //  EARRINGS
I posted a preview of today's post on Instagram and I was promptly instructed to post ASAP πŸ˜‚ so I am doing just that! In today's post, we are talking Dresses and I am collaborating with Asos to share the launch of their Occasionwear line.

If you have been reading this blog for any length of time you already know how I feel about Asos. It's one of my go-to places to shop, with dedicated Plus size, Tall and Petite offerings, they have it all covered.

In addition to sharing this gorgeous Maxi, I've rounded up a few of my picks from the site below. To take it a step further I also have a video trying on and reviewing a few more options Here.

It's almost wedding and prom season and, I'd say that Asos's Occasionwear launch is right on time. Make sure to check out the line Here.

As soon as I saw this gorgeous ORANGE maxi on the site I knew it had to be mine! The color, ruffles, and tail just spoke to me. Also the fact that the Dress came in TALL 😱 sealed the deal, Im on the border at 5.7' it can be so hard finding Maxis I can wear with heels.

Another plus is that this Dress comes in a solid color and in a style that can be easily dressed up or down. This dress would be perfect for a beach/garden wedding or perhaps for dinner on your anniversary getaway.

SHOP OCCASION WEAR

I styled up the Dress by pairing it with the Crispin drops from Bauble bar. I love the ombre effect, which ties in nicely with my box clutch from Zara. I kept the rest of the look pretty minimal with a gold Cuff and perspex Sandals

Tip: When rocking a dress like this, it's all about the accessories. I could have easily paired the Dress with this Ring handle tote and Embellished flats (see ss17' Shoe Guide) and the look would be brunch appropriate.
