How To Wear Statement Boots : Fur Vest & FTF Oversized Shirt

White after labor day, basically a norm at this point right? #rulebreaker 😀😬😀! Ever since I saw Aimee song in snakeskin boots during NYFW I knew I had to have one.  So you can only imagine the excitement I felt when I spotted the Taytee boots online ( also come in OTK but my calves); for those following me on Snapchat remember when I got these Boots ( also comes in other colors) in the mail?

Instantly I was envisioning how I wanted to style them and I knew I didnt want to wear the Boots with a dark look. This pair actually came from Macys ( is on sale Now),  is pretty comfortable, can be worn all day, is still available and goes up to a size twelve 🙌🏾.  I guess my favorite part about the Boot aside from the print is its block heel; God bless the fashion gods because block heels are a fat girls best friend.

Tip: keep warm and give an oversized piece some shape by pairing it with a structured piece like a Vest , Jacket or Coat

As far as the look I kinda went thematic, since the look was basically monochrome I opted to play with different textures. I paired the boots with a silky long oversized-ish Shirt (turned dress) from Fashion to Figure then I layered on a shaggy Vest and finished off the look with a cross body. Overall I cant decide if the look is giving me sixties or seventies vibes.

How to wear a Striped Dress : Suede Vest and Lace up Flats

DRESS // FLATS // BAG // SUNGLASSES // VEST

The first time I saw this ribbed Dress (sold out Similar) on Asos I knew it had to be mine, and after I saw it on Rochelle I couldn't have been more convinced. So I watched and I waited and finally it went on sale and I scooped it up. I think what I love about the Dress is the 70's aesthetic I just love that era in fashion.

In keeping with that I paired the look with a Suede Vest from the Nsale. Nothing says 70's like brown suede and colorful stripes. I consider Vests a wardrobe must have for several reasons one of them being their camouflaging powers on those of us who do not have a six pack. In case you missed it I've gained a few pounds and some of it went to my mid section so Bodycons dont like my body as much as they used to; which is where this Vest comes in.

SHOP THE POST

The Vest is actually made out of a buttery soft faux suede, while shooting this look both Ola and Val remarked on the quality. I got the Vest in an XL and it fits my size 16/18 body perfectly. I'll have to style this Vest again on the blog because I wasnt thinking and didnt get a picture of the scalloped detail in the back. Its such a great piece and something I'd consider a classic, definitely one of my top Nsale finds.

Tip: Camouflage any midsection issues by pairing you Bodycons with Vests

The style of today's Dress is so versatile that I could have gone any way but I decided to go casual. I paired the dress with must have FLATS (goes up to sz 12) and a navy Tote that complimented the navy in the dress. To finish it off I choose a dusty pink pair of Sunnies (try Ditto use code CHICSTER) that complimented the look perfectly. As much as I love the dress I love how the look pulled together with the Vest.

BTW Asos is offering 20% off everything use code MAJOR20 ends tonight! dont forget to use EBATES to save even MORE.

Who is ready for the holiday season ✋🏿✋🏿 I am; its my favorite time of year and probably my most active time on the blog. Ive already updated the TABs above so you can start looking through  the "Holiday" tab for Outfit Inspiration, awesome Gift ideas. Id really love it if you guys would share feedback about what content you want to see more of (Gift guides, Outfit Ideas, Giveaways) let your girl know.

How To Style All Black: Lace Culottes and Bomber Jacket

BOMBER JACKET // CULOTTES // LONG SLEEVE TEE // SADDLE BAG // PUMPS // SUNGLASSES
Hi my name is Chichi and Im addicted to black. I realized I've been wearing a lot of black lately and I have theories as to why (to be continued). Today Im showing another way to wear all mostly Black. Wearing a color head to toe dosnt have to be boring there are a few things you can do to spruce it up.

Tip: Break up an all black look by wearing different textures (pair a satin piece with suede, lace, or brocade) .

These lace Culottes are still a favorite (also worn Here), because its just one of those pieces that are rarely made in plus sizes. I paired the Culottes with a basic a Long sleeve tee ( you need to get One in every color luv These ) a Saddle bag ( another piece you need in various colors like These) and asymmetrical Pumps

SHOP THE POST

For a Pop of color I tied a printed scarf around the Bag and matched the colors to the Sunglasses and Pumps. To finish off the look I threw on a Bomber Jacket, even though its not something one would think of pairing with a romantic fabric like lace the Bomber works, because its made out of a satin (another that exudes romance) like fabric and because its in black.

What's your most favorite piece from your closet? What makes it so special to you?

A Guide To The Top 7 Wearable Fall Trends

As always I'm wondering where the time has gone, New York Fashion Week always signifies the beginning of a new season for me. Especially this year because I was in NYC and shared the  shenanigans on Snapchat and  highlights on Insta story.

So new season new trends right? I thought I would do a round up, however honestly this is the first season I haven't done prior research on upcoming trends in advance. Simply because I kind of knew or had an inkling of what trends I would be interested in this season.

Not sure if I'm becoming set in my ways, which is like my worst nightmare (looking dated). I also kind of eluded to some of the trends in my Labor Day sales roundup (Here).

SHOP FALL & WINTER TRENDS

However I wouldn't be a good fashion blogger if I didn't do an official round up so here it is.

Velvet
Iffy about the trend start with a Choker, like the trend try a Shoe or Bag, luv it try a Dress or Duster Coat
Red/Pink
Various colors of pinks and red ( from blush to burgundy) the perfect outfit combo is a Blush top, Red skirt and Burgundy pumps ( These go up to a size 13).
Bombers/Puffers
Unless you're under a rock you know Bomber Jackets are very IN this fall but another runway take are Puffer jackets, dust off your old Puffer jacket and make it fresh by pairing it with something luxe.
Metallics
This is definitely one of my favorite trends I love a good Metallic Pleated Midi like this One, & this One. I'm kicking myself for not getting the one from Society Plus.
Leather Coats
I'm definitely here for Leather Coats, however pulling it off can be tricky because real leather ones are $$$, and Faux leather ones can look cheap really easily, if you don't have an eye or it.
Boudoir
Lace, satin and bedroom trimmings have been making waves and still continues to, try a Pajama style blouse (have it in a sz 14) tucked into High Waist jeans, or make an homage to the 90's by pairing your Slip dress with a white tee.
Off Shoulder
Despite how unpractical this will be in the winter, we can all rejoice because Off shoulder/one shoulder styles are still very in for fall. Love this Piece and this colorful One.

Tip: get an oversized button down, skip the first 3 to 4 buttons, button the rest scrunch the sides down on your shoulder and viola! you have a D.I.Y off shoulder top and you didnt have to spend a $1. See what I mean Here.

Do you keep up with seasonal trends why or why not? If you do which trend are you most excited for this fall?

Tropical Print Top & Green Midi Skirt + A Gwynnie Bee Review

TOP // SKIRT // CLUTCH // SANDALS // NAIL POLISH
As soon as I saw the print on this top I knew I had to add it to my "closet/wardrobe/hanger"? ( the official term Gwynnie Bee uses seems to have slipped my mind). The top got extra points for me because it was off the shoulder and the colorful print had a black background. The print and top were part of an exclusively designed collection by Rachel Antonoff for Gwynnie Bee.

As I said one of the things about this top that endeared me to it was it's black background; even though tropical prints are typically reserved for the summer the black background makes it easy to transition into the fall. With that in mind I paired the top with an army Green midi skirt (under $12 Here) and kept all other accessories simple (Sandals & Clutch) in order to keep the top the focal point of the look.

SHOP THE POST

Another great thing about the top is that its so versatile ( FYI its not cropped ). You can pair it with  leather trousers and cute pumps or dress it down with jeans, flats ( like these), a fedora, and the best part of it all is when your done you can send it right back to Gwynnie Bee

REVIEW
Basically GB is a subscription service that allows you to borrow/rent plus size clothing. The service exponentially expands your wardrobe without the cons.

Depending on what level you decide upon (e.g three garment at a time) you get to swap clothing out as often as you want without dealing with laundry or hording issues. In the event you love a piece you have the option to buy the piece. It's great for those who are on a fixed budget but want to look stylish or those with limited closet space.

Here is what I loved about the service each order comes with a pre-labeled envelope/s to send clothing back. Their is a size selector tool that helps you choose clothing based on your size in brands your familiar with (eg. Asos). You can indicate online that you will be returning things so the swap is super fast and you can prioritize your picks ( for example if you want to get a certain item first ).

Here's what I didn't feel great about, you had to choose a certain number of items before you could begin receiving your picks, I believe I had to choose nine. There weren't as many options of what I was looking for like Outerwear.

Gwynnie Bee did however have a mammoth selection of work friendly pieces especially dresses. Overall I liked the service. It's perfect especially if your on a budget, you get to bring in new items into your closet frequently without the clutter and debt that is typically associated with over shopping.
You'll save time cause your not at the mall as much and you'll probably have less I have nothing to wear moments and you can say goodbye to buyers remorse.

Finally another great perk is if you have a special occasion, you won't have to break the bank for a dress you might wear once or twice. You can just get it and return it back to Gwynnie Bee. Interested? Go check out the service Here and get a SURPRISE.

How To: Great Gifts For Less

Today I am working with Groupon to share how you can stretch your dollars, and save money on health, beauty and wellness services.  Those who know me know I am allergic to full price to a fault some times; and as much as I love a good pamper session I am definitely on a budget and thats where Groupon comes in. Its a go to when searching for services, and there are a plethora of deals on health, beauty and wellness services

One of the first things I did after coming back from NYFW ( see Recap one Here) was to go get a mini pamper session. If you are following me on Snapchat you saw the state of my nails before the mini mani I got during NYFW; so when I got back I had to get a pedi and mini massage to match.

I've found some great deals on Groupon  from car detailing, to summer activities and I just found a great deal on a wash, deep conditioning and twist out. Which is exactly what I was looking for cause when your natural, wash day is almost an entire day and that struggle is really real especially when you have some length.

Groupon is also great for gifting its the perfect place to stretch your gifting dollars. You can find a great deal on a massage package or  a mani and pedi to gift  to a new mom or an overworked Blogger friend (hint Hint). The best part of Groupon is that its open to all, no memberships and or subscription required. Go find great health, beauty and wellness deals on Groupon Here.

Where do you find great affordable gifts?

An Open Letter + An Outfit : Off Shoulder Top & Lace Midi Skirt

SKIRT // TOP // SUNGLASSES (use code CHICSTER)  // PUMPS // HAT // CLUTCH
Boater Hats and Neck Scarfs definitely caught my eye this summer but as we know fall is literally here and Ive started to gravitate towards monochrome. So when I saw this Hat at Target for only $14 and it fit my large head. I knew it would easily transition with me in to fall. If your following me on Snapchat you'll know I live in headscarves , hats & Sunnies. I just have little tolerance for hair when its humid outside, so I knew this hat would get some wear.

Tip: Love neutrals keep them from being basic by pairing them with a splash of color and or print

This outfit was definitely inspired by Blaire from Atlantic Pacific she is a Veteran in the blogger game and if your style is on the girly side then she is a must follow. As far as the rest of this look, I picked up the Skirt from Charlotte Russe plus (see what else I picked up Here) the "Top" is actually a romper from Asos, shoes are my trusty Aldo Leo Pumps which I will be retiring soon because I got These for only $24.
If you want to know more about what Ive purchased or have eye on go Here. Finally my Clutch is from Zara from a few seasons ago. As I said earlier I tend to be gravitate towards neutral so a rule I live by is to always add color & print to my looks.

Ive been reflecting alot lately as some of you may know I turned the big three O this year. Specifically Ive been thinking about this blog/business where I am going with it. I love that this platform (digital Space) allows me to share what I love & to be a resource but the truth is that it takes alot of work. While doing all of this I still have to juggle my commitments to my employer, husband, child, self and "this" has taken its pound of flesh from all these areas of my life especially my sleep.

So Ive been reflecting on things like, growth , sustainability, building a team etc. I know at some point I will have to make some big decisions. Sorry for how cryptic this is I am just sharing whats in my head right now.

ON MY RADAR

To my fellow momreprenuers if you have any tips tricks on how to balance, build a team etc definitely leave it in the comments. Also I am looking to collab with other creatives in the Baltimore area, email me Here. In other news I have something super exciting to share but I am waiting for the Ok. So stay tuned for that!!!!

Mixing Prints 101 : Floral Midi & Stripe Off the Shoulder

asos, curve, bardot

asos, floral skirt
TOP // SKIRT // SHOES // BAG
One of my Fav bloggers is Tiff from the Werk Place, I adore her ability to mix prints, textures, and color with ease. That knack doesn't come as easily to me, I tend to go for classic with a dash of something depending on my mood ( it may be edgy, boho, floral, androgynous e.t.c). Although I'm no expert  I have to say that I am starting to get the hang of mixing prints.

For this look I decided to go with two current favorites my Floral Midi ( as seen on Instagram) from Asos and my stripe Off the Shoulder top ( worn HERE too) also from you guessed it Asos.  Because stripes and floral are a classic combination when it comes to mixing prints, the combination is  basically fail proof.

To finish of the look I choose  fiery Red Pumps ( luv These too) from many moons ago and my new  favorite designer-esque  Bag ( under $50) from JustFab ( real thing HERE); structured bags are always a go to every fall and they add a level of sophistication to every look.

Are you looking for a PERSONAL SHOPPER or is your money burning a hole in your pocket cause you're just not sure what to buy then look no further my CHICLIST is Here (shop it Here)

8 Items To Prep You For Fall: Fall Fashion

So if you're following me on Instagram (@supplechic) you know that about a month ago I kind of switched gears and started shopping for fall ( shop Fall Finds Here). I had identified earlier holes in my autumn/winter wardrobe (  OTK Boots for example) items I didnt have and also items that needed to be replaced.
The ending of July was the perfect time to begin shopping for fall because of the mega sales that we're going on at places like Asos, Nordstrom , Forever21, Target e.t.c ( before you get mad at me I didn't do this in secret I mentioned it in this post & this one).
Surprisingly I found quite a few Fall ( shop Fall Finds Here)  and winter pieces and I figured why not share with you guys.

On Instagram (@supplechic) I shared my best deal This $27 drape sweater from Asos .  Here are the pros the Sweater is really warm (almost like a coat), the print adds a touch of boho (cue in the 70's)  and it has kimono sleeves (which means that the size 14 I purchased will fit up to an 18/20) .  The  cons are that the sweater is shorter in the back and that it has kimonos sleeves would have preferred a long sleeve.
I also pick up this army green Parka (utility jacket) from Nordstrom Rack because I wore my last one to death. Here are the pros the Parka is made of a substantial  linen like fabric and fits great  ( pretty roomy goes up to a size 3X) . The cons are the Parka does not have a zipper, it features buttons (is double-breasted) and  does not have a drawstring waist, so waist cannot be cinched .
I will be doing a  Fall Haul as well as a WorkWear haul on my YouTube channel. where I will review in detail all the pieces that I picked up and I will update this post as soon as it is uploaded  on YouTube.
Before I forget I just got This denim dress in the mail and I love it (runs a little small around the arms, also tall girls beware I am 5'7'') Look below to shop my Fall Prep!

4 Reasons to Start Shopping for Fall Now!

hm plaid coat , forever21 plus jacket, american apparel disco pants, plus size,
See featured outfits  Here and Here.
Here are the four reasons you should start shopping for fall Now.
It Saves Money, one of the biggest reasons to shop ahead of time, is that it can save you money. You can shop the last seasons pieces on Sale or you can shop special sales like the  #Nsale. It Saves Time, if you buy now while items are still readily available it will save you hours in the mall searching for an item (wide calf  Knee High boots for example) to no avail  because its SOLDOUT online. You have More Options, you will have the pick of litter ( like the option between this Fur Coat, This Azteck one, or this Parka), allowing you to choose the items that suit you the best. There is Less stress, your less anxious because in all likely hood  you will find what your looking for and  in your size, finally you will experience the euphoria of having exactly what you want and being prepared ahead of time

I walked into Walmart a few weeks ago and they already had Back to School items out ( summer vacation barely started). This is happening because  people are starting to shop earlier and search for deals way before they need it.
Which means that if you wait till you actually need it their will be nothing left. This is especially true in the Plus Size market where their are a limited number of retailers that offer fashion forward pieces. So, seriously ... start now.

I have, I picked up this Camel Coat in a 14 ( I am a size 16/18), this Scuba Jacket in a 14 also ( ive got pretty thick arms and they both fit comfortably) , I also picked up these Green Culottes which I wore Here ( they are now 50% off) . I have got my eye on this Fur Vest , this Suede Skirt, these Flare Pants, this Parka and finally these Lace up Flats ( width with version Here) . I know we are talking about fall but when I saw this Forever21 Romper I did a double take, if I didnt have my Asos one ( which I wore Here) it would be a no brainier, just thought I would share.
Down below Ive linked some of the best finds for Fall including pieces from the #Nsale  and so much more.
