Ever since I saw Beyonce at the gallery in a short set I have been looking for a similar look for less but two things were against me. Finding a set within my budget as well as finding one in fat size. One day as I was perusing my closet this look just came to me, although its not an identical set it comes pretty close. So if you are looking to recreate her look, all you have to do is choose printed separates in the same colors. How do you feel about matching sets yay or nay?

Sorry to interrupt regularly scheduled programing. This post was intended to be a video on youtube but after some thought I knew I wouldn't have it up before thanksgiving so I opted to do a post. If you have ever ventured into making video's you will know its no small feet. From editing out outtakes to bloopers: I have a very VIBRANT five year old ( who always wants to be in mommy's videos), to voice overs, to editing pictures, to video effects and finally rendering ( in my mind you only do youtube for two reasons you love it or you are getting paid lol).
I came up with three scenarios and styled my outfits accordingly.
Meet the parents
For many reasons the holidays seem to be the most convenient time for folks in relationships to meet each others families. If you are in that situation this is for you. Personally I would go sweet and sassy no matter your personal style (that is if you are into whips, chains, spikes, lace, leather and all things naughty) this is not the time to show it ( even if its on trend) mom's as well as dads have a view in their heads of whom they want their son to be with and none of the afore mentioned items of clothing is involved. With that in mind I started with a chiffon blouse tucked into a skater skirt which I finished of with opaque tights and a bootie.
Now this is what I do during the holidays.I leave all my fancy clothes at home because they get in the way of me getting down.This is such an easy outfit a tunic and leggings . Legging are perfect cause they have stretch in them and a roomy tunic will camouflage any food baby.

Host/Hostess
First I will say I have never been a hostess (at least not officially anyway). Its something I dread ( but I know its coming) because I know the work involved in cooking and of course cleaning because your having guests over and finally cleaning after they leave. Like most hostesses you will be busy till the last minute, probably showering as your guests are arriving. You want to keep things simple, practical but put together/luxe. when I think luxe "silk" is the first thing that comes to mind. I started off with a silk blouse and to add a kick I paired it with leather pants, finally I topped it off with a cozy cardigan a statement ring and sparkly studs.

P.S skater skirts are great for all body types they camouflage as well as give the illusion of more where their is less and you can eat as much as you want. Also leather pants are optional maybe a Jacquard/ brocade pant or one in oxblood if you want to stay on trend but any slim/ankle pants will do. I have to say that the head to toe print trend is one of my favorite trends. Solange, Olivia, and June Ambrose to name a few have pulled this trend of effortlessly, but alas its a tricky trend and can go wrong so quickly. Since I consider myself a rookie I went with a neutral palette and added a pop of color

For those who dont know it I have a youtube channel. I started first making videos so I thought it was only fitting for me to start a series with my current favorites on youtube. The honest truth is that I dont watch t.v I watch youtube dont ask me about any shows on cable because I honestly will be clueless, aside form my guilty pleasure HBO(In Addition to Scandal "I ♥ Kerry" and finally Homeland). Of course I had to put one of my videos lol! shameless plug one of my favorite trends for fall is leather ; so I had do a look-book featuring leather and while thrifting I scored this amazing sequin jacket! literally I have had a sequin jacket on my thrift list for ever. So I was super excited when I found this one. I would have preferred black and gold or colored sequins but hey beggars aren't choosers. Subsequently I decided to include it in the look-book and also to showcase how you can style up and old tee and jeans.
WENDYS LOOKBOOK
So with age I have become a hopeless romantic( to my dismay) and this video that was made by Wendys beaux almost made me cry. Most men who help out with youtube videos dont do it by choice and God only knows the cajoling that must go on behind the lens. I love how invested he is in her venture; you can see the love through the lens and wendy's rise characterizes the quote "two heads are better than one" kudos to you mystery man.

Lastly I Love videos that show ways to wear anything and a jean jacket is a classic/staple. If you dont have one run to your nearest store and if you are on a budget thrift stores have loads. This video shows how versatile a Jean jacket is. Throw it on anything and it just tones it down it creates that "I am not trying too hard look".Furthermore I love the concept of this video. I lust for the days when I will have the equipment and expertise to make such awesome video's, but I try to tell my self its one step at a time. A one man crew can only do so much.

It seems that of late I have become intrigued by all things french. Hence the title "five things" I think its because of the latest street style shots from Paris fashion week. Or it may be because the innate frenchman in me has surfaced. Frenchman? I took french of and on for about six years of my life. The funny thing about the whole thing is all I can say is "what is your name" and "my name is". I feel bad for my mom sometimes she really tried to make me cultured, french, piano ......... But all I wanted to do was draw and sing. Now here are my current five favorites:
I AM loving the current explosion of plus size bloggers in TUTU's. As I said on my FB page I guess we all have inner ballerina's in us. As usual Gabi didint disappoint I also loved the outfit Gurl With Curves put together; if you are intrested in this style I know that forever21 has a few less expensive versions of the tutu skirt. I could write a post just on the PENCIL SKIRT. The pencil skirt embodies my philosphy on style: it accentuates ones curves, it is sultry/sexy without being vulgar, its sophisticated and leaves room for the imagination............. Pairing it with a tee makes it modern and gives off that effortlessy chic vibe we are all trying to attain. Off course one of the biggest trends for fall is LEATHER and I have been obssesed with leather sleeves for about two winters I am still trying to find the "right look" within my price point. I am crossing my fingers that it will happen soon. PRINTS!!! If you didn't know I am Nigerian, we love prints and all things colorful, bold and clashing. You can take the girl out of Naija but you cant take the Naija out of her. Last but not least SOLANGE I am thoroughly intrigued by this woman; I just love her style and how she owns who she is. It cant be easy being her, but if her sister owns her music SOLANGE owns her style, her style is impecable! its the perfect mix of high, low, edgy, modern, and vintage with an ethnic twist. My goal is that one day I will be able to work with her ( I am having a Stan moment ). P.S Rant alert!I need a HTML crash course I have spent literally four hours trying to place picture where I want them and trying to get rid of extra space really peeved feeling a little better now if the space wants to be there let it be!! Lately I have been gravitating towards the black and white palette and consequently I have purchased a few clothing pieces with that color combination.
The sun dress is the quintessential summer staple, it even has "sun" in its name.
During Full Figure Fashion week I spotted this dress and i knew it was coming home with me.I love this dress for three reasons it has a palm print (vacation!!), it was thirteen dollars and it features the silhouette of the moment the "fit and flare".
For fall I decided to go for a "school girl" inspired look I layered a blouse underneath the dress and turned it into a pinafore.
In addition the blouse was buttoned all the way to the top, a statement necklace and botties completed the look
depending on your weather you can go bear legs or if its a bit chilly add some tights.Their is just something I love about black tights and black botties
So I am starting a new series called Muse cause I am sure sooner than later you guys will get tired of seeing my face lol! Basically I will be showcasing bloggers, designers, pop culture icons, the girl on the street, anyone who I feel has inspired me.
So I first came across K. on Lookbook and was immediately enthralled. I quickly checked to see if she had a blog unfortunately she didnt (I can totally understand why).
For the most part I follow quite a few Bloggers some mainstream others not so much but I tend to idolize the ones that are adventurous e.g. the vintage virgin.
I love people who don't quite sing to everyone's tune and this is very rare in the full figured world. With all that said I bring you Kerlie Raymond.
I'd say her style is quite Eclectic its a mish mash of California Chic ( flower child meets edgy meets beach babe) with a hint of Now( Modern,trendy) and a healthy dose of Vintage
So I asked K, three questions 1. What does your style say about you? My style says whatever and whoever I am feeling that day.
2.Who is your style/fashion muse/inspiration? My style inspiration is June Ambrose. Her style is phenomenal.
3. If you can only choose one item to wear every single day for the next year, what would it be?The one item I would choose to wear everyday for the next year is confidence, without it no outfit is complete. =]

So my baby (blog) is over a month old I am ecstatic. This blog has been an idea for over two years and I am happy that it is no longer just an idea.
I am very much a perfectionist and I want my work (blog) to look like some of the best; which is why I hesitated for so long. However I am realizing that many things in life happen in stages. Today has truly been one of those days GGMG ( God Give Me Grace). Anyway this is my final post for BFSC; it is a quick overview of my looks. Please let me know which you liked the most.

This is my last post for the BFSC I am elated literally; because these last couple of weeks have been posting OLYMPICS for me. I can see why people quit their jobs and become full time bloggers lol! I really wanted to shoot at the beach but there is no beach around here for hours. Which makes me miss New Haven, the beach was literally 5 mins away the funny thing is I'll probably be at the beach this weekend. So instead I had to settle with my sister-in-laws pool.I really love Rihanna style. Most especially her vacation style she is always on the cusp when it comes to fashion trends, swim wear included; I love the way she mixes her pieces.

One more to go woohoo! and less than 48hrs let me see if I can do it. I am happy and sad that this challenge is coming to an end because at many times it caused me to really step out of my comfort zone. This was definitely a challenge for me because I started the challenge halfway through at the end of june so I had to get creative about finding time to take,edit,and post. Consequently I found my self being critical about some of my posts because I felt I could do better. Now imagine how surprised I was when I received such nice comments.
Now on to the post, I promise that I did not do this intentionally; if you read my previous post you already know how I currently feel about citrus. I put of my "hi-lo" post because honestly I didn't have much in my closet that fit the bill, because I get wary about trends (I could write a separate post). So I had only two items (both being tops) in my closet that fit the bill and I decided on this top. ( but then I may be biased)
P.S. I promise this will be the last time I feature this color (at least for awhile) and now you guys have learnt something about me (when it rains for me it pours lol!) I.E when I like something everyone knows
