LACE TOP // BANDAGE SKIRT // FLORAL PUMP // PINK CLUTCH |
I know its officially wedding season once spring rolls in and the invitations start coming in. Wedding are expensive period even for the wedding guest from paying for travel, lodging, gifts and so much more, its great to be able to save a little on your outfit. Most women are under the assumption that you must buy a new dress every time you go to a wedding this is an unfortunate misconception. Why you might ask? What happens is that we fill our wardrobes with either really expensive or really cheap dresses that may not be worn again due to their uniqueness.
So whats the solution, if you have weddings on your social calendar this season its best to create a capsule wardrobe of sorts.
To do this your first step is to take stock of what you have in your closet and identify those pieces that could be worn to a wedding; think dressy separates in fabrics like chiffon, lace, metallics ( like this almost sold out Lace Top or this Bandage Skirt ), solid colored dresses, statement accessories like this Ornate Clutch (statement earrings) & or shoes ( like these Sophia Webster 3D Floral sandals).
Next decide on a color scheme, black is always an easy choice, jewel tones ( like this burgundy Bandage Dress) are also great for formal weddings as well as pinks & floral tones ( see additional options Here). Dressing for weddings is very similar to holiday parties see post on that Here .
Finally fill in the gaps typically this involves buying an accessory, shoe or separate that will allow you to interchange your separates in order to create new looks.
Blush is one of my favorite colors this spring, I've never been a pink girl but I love the subtlety of blush. For this look I decided I wanted to play with the shade by going monochrome.
If your going for the monochrome look adding contrast is key. You accomplish this by playing with different shades of a color or by wearing different textures. Finally to tie the look together, I chose a Floral Pump that has various shades of pink and a bit of red.
Finally dont forget about the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale and to get your Tickets for theCurvyCon! Dont know what theCurvyCon is check out my post Here. Also I have an extra discounted ($30 off) general admission ticket for sale send me a message if interested. Cant wait to see you there!
What do you think about todays monochrome look? Would you wear it to a wedding; what would you change?
