If you cant tell already I am totally over summer, summer style that is I've been researching ahead for fall, I blame it on the Nsale. Dont get me wrong I still have summer posts coming up  however thoughts of fall have  been influencing my style choices as of late.

They say the early bird catches the worm ( see why I say this HERE) which is why this dress instantly caught my eye. Suede (see Suede picks below) is a huge part of the 70's trend which shows no signs of taking the back seat this fall. So when I saw this Suede Dress from  PinkClubWear  I couldnt pass it up ( it was giving me freakum dress/ Kim K vibes)  I knew it had to be mine. But my favorite thing about

this PinkClubWear dress is that it is convertible (not sure if it was intended ); I can wear it as a tube dress or a maxi skirt come winter ( two thumbs up for versatility) . Use code 'CHICHI30'  to get 30% of the Dress .

The dress it self is from PinkClubWear, it is really well made, the suede does not look cheap (material is not flimsy), it  really sucks you in (if you want a looser fit I would size up), and its a nice length ( I am 5.7) it reaches well below my  knees. I’ve shown the dress with my White Jacket ( see fall jackets Here) from Forever21 and without. I think the Dress is a really versatile piece that will take you from summer into fall. I kept the look neutral ( ala Kim K) but choose to add a pop of color via my Red Sandal and finished it off with a Blush Clutch.

A Plaid Coat & Lace Blouse

I tend to default to this lace blouse when I am looking for a dressy blouse.  In my opinion every wardrobe needs to have an arsenal of dressy blouses ( like this cute one from Asos Here or Here) because they add instant polish to any look. 

I scored this plaid jacket from H&M online for less than 60 bucks and its worth every penny especially because of the quality. I stalked it for months though because it was originally a hundred plus. I always say that if you buy/have nothing else during the winter months, have a great coat (like this versatile one from Eloquii Here or Here). You can have rags underneath but a great coat covers all lol. 

For this look I really wanted to wear jeans but I had to dress up so I choose my lace blouse from Forever 21. My coat is a mixture of navy and camel to tie in both colors  I choose my Zara sandals which happen to be navy & black  and I went with my fur clutch to compliment the camel in the coat.

Transitioning : Woven Joggers and Sweater

These black and white joggers where a closet favorite over the summer, but to be quite honest I didn't wear them as much as I would have liked because I felt they brought unwanted attention to my derriere. However I feel like I am going to get a lot more wear out of them this fall simply because I can pair them with longer knits like tunic length sweaters and dusters. 

I love the woven jogger style because its the best of both worlds unlike its knit counter part it can be easily dressed up as well as down. I simply love the fact that it is  still just as comfortable and as fuss free as its knit counter part. This pair happens to be from Forever 21 and was purchased over the summer, currently they have a selection of knit and woven joggers if you haven't tried them out please do; when you try them out and since its your first pair you might want to start with a black pair like these from Asos.

In order to transition my joggers I paired them with a semi sheer sweater that I picked up from Macys. I added my favorite black pumps and since I was totally inspired and hyped from seeing the images from the Alexander Wang collection for HM I decided to steal from the boys (the watch: shhh dont tell............) and I completed the look with my trusty woven clutch.

5 Thrift Shop Finds To Buy For Fall

While working on my "Comfy Chic" post I realized that aside from the shoes that everything that I was wearing was from the thrift store; the whole outfit was less than $60, fiffty of that going to the shoes and necklace. I didnt discover thrifting until I had my son I had to feed my shopping habit some way on my barebones budget, so I began researching local thrift stores and found out that I had a great one around the corner. Every time a new season, rolls out new trends, I mentally go through the upcoming trends to see what I can get vintage. I love thrift shopping for two main reasons one how great it is to your bank account and secondly the great quality vintage pieces you find. Its almost like searching for treasure. So with fall looming I decided to throw this collage together just in case you are already in a fall state of mind; I know I am at least fashion wise.

Summer Recap : Full Figure Fashion Week, Rsschool Night, Curves Rock Weekend & Tumshowcase

 To start the summer of I took a day trip to New York for the "Curves at Sea" event during Full Figure Fashion Week . Unfortunately this year I couldnt do the whole week but I decided to go for the curves at sea event simply because I've wanted to go for this event but in the past it had always sold out; I had a great time seeing a bunch of my blogger boo's like the always flawless Naturallyfashionable and the wonderful peggy of Ontheqtrain. If by some fluke you havnt check out their blogs please do.

Next I was invited for summer school, I mean blogger school by rewardstyle; if you dont know about them and you are a blogger check them out here. I learned alot about how to make my blog better for my readers as well as my self. However I am a little peeved because I am an andriod user and they dont have some features available to us ( a rant for later).

After that was CurvesRockWeekend which happens in Baltimore. The event is a 4 day weekend focuses on women empowerment, building self-esteem, fitness, healthier lifestyle choices and of course FASHION. Again my blogger boo Naturallyfashionable was present as well as the beautiful Isoken of puskieswardbrobe this sister right here is a triple threat hair stylist , makeup artist as well as fashion designer  you can check her out on YouTube as well as buy her designs here if you like what you see make sure to tell her I sent you.

Lastly was Tumshowcase (The Urban Marketplace) it was a fun  indoor flee market type event with a lot of vendors from natural hair products, to ankara outfits, makeup, as well as awesome food. It was hosted be JadoreFashion one of the hardest working bloggers I've seen. All in all it was a great event perfect for people watching.

8 Sweat Proof Summer Essentials

So the last couple of days have been pretty mild compared to the last couple of weeks that where 90 degrees plus.  For those days  when you would rather be naked  here are the pieces  that help me  beat the heat and keep my sanity and what I like about  these pieces is that they are all interchangeable ( the arrows give you an idea of how I would pair them) .

When trying to beat the heat you definitely want to look for  breathable fabrics like  light  weight cottons, chiffons and silks. I also swear by baby powder, chafing gel and secret clinical strength deodorant to keep me dry and sane.

I would pair the crop top with the  palazzo pants and straw hat; the denim dress  with  the gladiators and straw hat; the kimono with the crop top, crochet shorts, gladiator sandals and straw hat ; the maxi skirt with the crop top and straw hat.

As Im writing to you right now my favorite new sandals are missing. Last weekend I decided to go on an impromptu trip and I left them in the trunk of the rental kind of bummed. So now Im trying to decided whether to just get another pair of my sandals in brown cause they are on sale for  around $29 or to just let them go. Cause I figure that  if I miraculously find my black ones then it will  be a win win situation because I would have two pairs of these super chic pair of sandals right .

As I was editing the pictures for this post I started to think back on how my view of myself has changed over the years. As a teenager I was extremely insecure because of my size and I wasnt even plus size; I just had a more mature body. I was insecure because I was taller than most of my peers,because I had stretch marks on parts of my body, because I was darker and because I was foreign. So whenever I entered a room all I wanted to do was hide in a corner or blend in.  Additionally as much as I love my family their views on what is beautiful didn't help much. All these negative views of myself, influenced the decisions I made as a youth, many of  which I wish I could unmake. 

Its taken me some time to see my worth and to realize no one is perfect. This  is one of the reasons I started  youtube-ing and blogging because it may seem superficial because we are talking about clothes but for me its really not. Its about loving yourself, following your dreams and not letting society or anyone else determine your worth. My self worth truly comes from my saviors view of me, he gave something priceless ( his life ) for me because I am priceless.

Boots in The Summer: Green T-shirt Dress and Gladiator Sandals

So I have never been to Coachella or any music festival ( its on my bucket list) at that, but what I never get is why people wear boots. I dont no about you, but I could never wear boots in the summer because I know that it would be equal to me having a rain forest in my shoes. I guess its a California thing. Any-who here is one of the looks I shot for an upcoming lookbook on YouTube. On one of those more "summery" spring days; sadly before the rain brought back the cold. Around this time of year  the pictures of Coachella and similar festival style photos tend to awaken the innate festival goer in me ( so  you may see a few more post like this).  So it made perfect sense to put a lookbook together about what I would wear if I was fortunate enough to go. If you are anything like me and would be more interested in outfits than the music at a music festival or are going to any of the upcoming "fests" ( lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Essence Fest ) and need some inspiration then come on over to YouTube where I will be posting my No-chella Lookbook.
Before I forget I must mention how unbelievably comfy this T-shirt dress is ( I wear biker shorts underneath mine) I know that I will be living in it all summer long ( will probably buy more this River Island  one has caught my eye).

Orange Is The New ? : Orange Midi and Trench

Currently nursing a headache but I really wanted to post this; the weather has been so-so and after experiencing three seasons last week (snow, 70 degrees and everything in-between) this trench is due for the cleaners.Words cant express how put together I feel when I put it on.  I really wanted to pair this look with my floral sandals but because I knew I would post this look on the blog I decided I would spare you guys lol.  I actually bought this dress at the end of last summer and I am glad that I finally got to wear it, but to be honest this shade of orange shows EVERYTHING so if you are thinking of purchasing something similar better have your Spanx ready. In other news happy belated Easter, the best news of all is that Jesus lives!

Trend To Try: The Layered Crop

Alas here is another trend to sink your teeth into; I would say its near perfect for the curvy sensibilities  (I've been watching too much game of thrones). This trend is a must try for 3 reason: First if you have been dying to try the crop top trend and have been apprehensive here is the perfect way, Second even though its april and officially spring it seems like winter does not want to release us from its iron grip, so if its still a little nippy where you are and your are already summer ready well then, this will do; the final reason to try it is because its totally "rad" lol (insert whatever phrase that means cool). I hope I've convinced you to purchase a crop top or at least dust of the one you have in your closet.

Take 3: Green Midi Skirt and Graphic Tee

And she makes another debut on the blog; its no secret that I adore this skirt lol! I hope I am not the only one who when they like something wears it until the threads fall off . Literally I have a closet full of clothes but yet I fixate on a few pieces, I am really trying to break that habit. Thats one of the reasons I did a closet clean out and I am starting a shopping freeze. I needed to know what I had and what I didnt need and now that I have done part one of the purge. I can begin wearing what I have . By the way you can benefit from my purge by checking out my closet sale you will find a lot of new and barely worn pieces at ridiculous prices, someone should benefit from my shopping habit.
