Trend To Try: The Layered Crop

Alas here is another trend to sink your teeth into; I would say its near perfect for the curvy sensibilities  (I've been watching too much game of thrones). This trend is a must try for 3 reason: First if you have been dying to try the crop top trend and have been apprehensive here is the perfect way, Second even though its april and officially spring it seems like winter does not want to release us from its iron grip, so if its still a little nippy where you are and your are already summer ready well then, this will do; the final reason to try it is because its totally "rad" lol (insert whatever phrase that means cool). I hope I've convinced you to purchase a crop top or at least dust of the one you have in your closet.

Trend To Try : Culottes (Long Shorts)

Culottes have been on my radar since last summer when Asos Curve produced a scarf print pair but I wasnt keen on the print so I passed. If you  are a regular on the blog then you know that I am in love with anything midi so culottes are an obvious progression and after seeing various fashionistas during fashion week try the trend the subliminal messages kicked in to overdrive. I searched high and low for a pair in plus size but couldn't find any I liked . However you can trust and believe that I wont give up that easily ( if you find a pair please let me know).

SPRING TRENDS 2013: MONOCHROME

So I typically do one big post showcasing the upcoming trends, however I decided not to do it that way this time. As we know not everything we see on the catwalk is ment for the crosswalk. So I've decided to feature my TOP FIVE "wearable" trends for SS 2013 one post at a time.

The first would be the MONOCHROME trend. Now I dont know why its called the monochrome trend cause I always taught mono ment one (I googled it and I stand corrected) and since its black and white wouldn't dat be two? This color combination has taking over, from stripes, to windowpane prints, to polka dots. Moreover its a personal fav because its wearable and you can easily shop your closet. So have you started your spring shopping, purchased any black and white items or tried the trend. 

Every season new trends come and go but everyone knows that theirs rarely anything new under the "fashion sun". If you are on a budget first shop your closet, if that fails vintage/thrift stores offer great quality pieces for less and finally when your satisfied that you have done due diligence shop!

Unfortunately for me in the thick of it I had 2 meetings that would have been a hassel to reschedule so I went to work.  Happy Valentines day all,hope you have an awesome time with your loved ones and that you spread some of that love. So you might recall the five things post I did, and that one of the things on the post was my love for the T-shirt and pencil skirt combo. However that love seems to have grown past the pencil skirt and I am loving pairing T-shirts with dresser pieces (skater skirts,leather pants as well sequins). I really love the mix of casual with dressy it creates that effortless look. Since it is Valentines day I thought why not wear my heart. So how do you feel about dressing up T-shirts YAY or NAY

In leau of the time of year I thought "boyfriend" would be a fitting title Valentines is upon us if your in need of a dress you can check out my previous post HERE. So I bought this pair of boyfriend jeans about 3 years ago and right off the bat I noticed it wasnt very "boyfriendy" on me cause of the hips and derrière the lord bless me with. For many reasons like my hatered of whiskering on jeans, these bad boys havnt gotten alot of wear (like 90% of my closet) but as of late they've come on my radar maybe it is  because some of my favorite bloggers/celebs have been wearing them. What are the characteristics of a good boyfriend jean you might ask:

1. slouchy 
2. faded and destroyed
3. cuffed (because of course your boyfriend is way taller than you so you had to cuff his jeans)
4. from your boyfriend/fav neighborhood denim retailer

Boyfriend jeans and white two tricky trends on plus-size/curvy women, as always its about how you style it. So how do you feel about the winter white and boyfriend jean trend ( boyfriend jeans tend to favor a boyish body type and white makes everything look larger!!)are you for them or against them and have you tried these trends.

P.s this was supposed to be a winter white post, but you get a two fer because fortunately or unfortunately I dont have any white bottoms and honestly I am scared of white I would be a nervous wreck  the whole time from trying not to get stained.

So I was browsing one of my favorite sites Asos and as usual I wanted everything on the site! but I noticed that they had an assortment of LBD's then it clicked to me that the next comercial holiday, Valentines Day is around corner coincidence maybe. While brainstorming for the post I decided to do a "naughty" and "nice" post. I dont know about you but I know most women bring their "A" game on "vals" even the ones that are anti -valentines; cause if you have a man your making sure his attention is on you and if your trying or "not trying" to land a man your making sure the attentions on you lol!

P.s I am seriously coveting the open back dress but I have a similar style in a mini from Asos( makes sad face) and the mesh and velvet dress is only $28 bucks!

Hi dolls! its the ninth day of the new year a week has already gone by wow! I predict this year is going to race by, which is kind of bitter sweet for me because my not so little munchkin is turning six soon . Seems like he was born yesterday however before I procede down nostalgia lane let me get back to this post. I seem to be keeping it simple these days, I actually wore this outfit before the Gray post but thought it was too simple for the blog (I need to stop second guessing myself lol). After reading this post by stylishcurves and watching this vid on pocketsandbowsTV  I decide otherwise. Also black and white seem to be the combination of the moment. I am so behind on up and coming trends I seriously need to do some homework, I can tell you to keep your eye out for stripes preferably black and white and for the color emerald. Last september was hectic for me because I was transitioning so I was out of the fashion week loop, on that note I cant believe Fashion Week (NY) is only a month away time flies, this time last year I was preparing for IFBCON. By the way I still feel like the outfit is missing something what would you add?

P.s If you are a blogger and you havnt been (IFBCON) its definitely an experience and now they have jazzed it up and made it a two day event.

THIS YEAR : A YEAR IN OUTFITS

Cant believe its New Years Eve seems like the year started yesterday, goes by fast I guess as you get older. As I look through these pictures I think of all the phases I went through this year, from mint to chartreuse to oxblood and leather its been an interesting year. It had its ups and its downs but I am grateful to just be here. I just want to thank you especially for following my journey and for allowing me into your lives its a choice that you made
